But still didn't shower this morning. We have a private room for the next 2 nights. Yeh!! Maybe I'll shower. Thurs. 12/20/07 Came to Wanaka Tues. A private room with our own bathroom. Yeh!! Decided I'm too old for these dorm rooms. Nice size, windows facing the front with a beautiful lake across the road . Gorgeous!! On the way to Wanaka we stopped along the road to have our lunch. Felt like we were in the middle of a canyon with these tall mountains looming up around us. Helicopters flying up & down the sides of mountains. I'm sure very thrilling, exciting & expensive. You get the pix. I think it would have made me ill. It was nice watching them from the ground. Then more helicopters came by very low spreading liquid. We decided they were spreading water, because the fire danger level was very high. It felt like they were putting on a show for us. Fun!! More trivia- The children here do not celebrate Halloween, but at anytime you will see kids dressed in costumes walking in the street. Very popular in the stores. you will find costumes for sale all year round. One way bridges also very popular. I guess because there ...
